With Medchart, not only can you request your clients' billing history (ex. OHIP and MSP) - you can now also use the the billing history to request your clients' records.
Our system automatically reads the billing history, extracts provider names, and generates a list of suggested providers for record requests. It also recommends a date range based on the dates listed in the billing history, streamlining the process for you.
To request records using this feature, you must first request and receive a billing history through Medchart. If you haven’t done so yet, you’ll be prompted to request one based on your client's health card jurisdiction.
Currently, this feature supports provincial billing histories from:
- Ontario (OHIP)
- Alberta (Statement of Benefits Paid)
- Nova Scotia (Medical Services Statement)
- Saskatchewan (Medical Statement)
- British Columbia (MSP)
1. Go to your client's profile. Enter their name in the search bar at the top of the screen and click the entry.
2. Click the New Request button in the top right corner of the client's profile.
3. Scroll to the Select a Provider from section and click on a suggested provider.
4. Review the provider's details to confirm this is where you want to request from. Click Select if you are happy with the details presented.
5. The date range will be populated with the dates pulled from the billing history. You can edit this information as you see fit or leave it as is. Click Next to continue to the next step.
6. Select the records you wish to receive and click Next.
7. Add a note to the provider (optional). Click Next.
8. At this point you can either Sign & Submit your request or Add [it] to Action Items.
Sign & Submit: Immediately witness the authorization and submit the request for processing. Please note that you will only be able to use this option if you have a signed MSP authorization on file for this client.
Add to Action Items: Move the request to Action Items to sign and submit the request at a later time/date.
Congratulations! You have successfully requested records using a Billing History!
